Buying Domain Name The Right Way

By , March 5, 2011 1:55 am

When it comes to making your online presence professional  buying domain name is one of the best things you can do for your online business.  With so many free options available online, many people mistakenly think that they will be just as successful (and save money) by going the free route, but there are a few problems with that line of thought.

For one thing, when you are relying on a free blog, no matter which platform you are using, you don’t own a thing.  If the service that provides the blog, say WordPress, decides that they don’t like something about your blog, they can shut it down and they don’t have to let you know they are doing it or why they are doing it.

Another problem using the free methods is that you can’t get a good domain name.  You want your own unique domain name not a hybrid name tacked on to the end of the free service you’re using, it just looks more professional to have your own name.

Domain names are inexpensive and easy  to buy so there’s really no reason to not buy your own.  With sites like GoDaddy.com and DomainCheapsters.com plus many more, you can get a domain name for as cheap as $10 a year or if you buy many at once you can get the price down to less than $7 a piece per year.

Besides establishing your online presence and creating a professional look, when you buy your own domain name you can actually flip your website and sell it.  It’s the same concept as when someone buys a house, fixes it up and sells it for a profit.  There are sites online that will allow you to place your  site up for sale, Flippa.com is one of those sites.

Just buy a good domain name, put up a site, get some traffic (and hopefully some sales) than list it on Flippa and make some money. Think about it, if you  only paid $10 for a domain name and a little bit for hosting, and then you sold the site for only $200 that would be a pretty nice profit for such a quick and easy sale.

When it comes time to picking out your domain name there is a few simple things to keep in mind:

1. Do keyword research to find a list of keywords associated with your niche that get a lot of traffic every month.  Then try to get one of those keywords, exactly, as your domain name.  For example, in the niche for cat toys let’s say I found a great keyword that gets a lot of monthly searches without too much competition: cheap cat toys.  Than I would want to use that as my domain: CheapCatToys.com.  That way my domain name is a highly searched for keyword which will guarantee quite a bit of free, highly targeted, traffic.

2. If all of your marketing efforts are going to be online I wouldn’t worry too much about the extension. I’ve had equally good luck using a .com, .net, or .org.  All my marketing efforts are with PPC or article marketing so no one needs to type in my domain name, they just click on a link which is why I don’t think the extensions matter too much.  If you are going to be marketing in such a way that people would have to actually type in the domain name to find your site, it may make more of a difference.

Treat your online business like a business and establish your online presence and professionalism by  buying domain name.  The cheap route can work in a pinch but as soon as you can afford $10 or so, buy your own name.

Building a web site for your home based business

By , March 3, 2011 12:07 am

It is possible to make money online, running your business from home. But to be able to do this, you have to have a web site. Most people starting up a home based business will try and build their own, that’s fine if you know what you are doing but can reflect very badly if you don’t. Home based business web sites, need to be professional looking but not overly flashy!

Some work from home opportunities include a web site when you sign up but if starting a new business, consider either one of two options.
1) Pay someone to build your web site for you. Look around you, web sites can be purchased at low cost these days.
2) Use a Free template or paid for template. Web site designers work from home too and are happy to work for low fees to get their own home business of the ground.

Make sure your web site is consistent.

Your customers will want to see a consistent web site layout. They don’t need to know that you are working from home so a professional, well laid out easy to navigate web site is a must. Most users will make an impression of your site in seconds. The difference between a good looking site and a bad looking site is a potential lost sale.

If you run an e-commerce business from home, don’t try and build the shopping cart yourself. Use a third party product like PayPal, particularly good for selling a few products and well respected. Payment processors like PayPal take care of your Data Protection requirements and leave you to get on with promoting your internet business.
Third party software
With a small investment, you can purchase a complete shopping cart or if you are on a tight budget, you could use an open source e-commerce product. Either way if your home based business sells a lot of products, why try and re-invent the wheel!

Paid host or free host?

Don’t make me laugh! A years internet hosting with your own domain name costs less that taking someone out for dinner. If you don’t make this one investment, then why bother starting a business at home? Owning a domain adds professionalism to your business. How many www. mysite.myinternetserviceprovidername.com web sites have you seen, that are successful online businesses?

How much does it all cost?

Hosting your new  web site and fitting it out with e-commerce might cost you less than a $100 per year. This depends how many products you sell and how much of the work you are prepared to do your self. But be realistic know your limitations and know when to ask for help!

Making Money with AdSense

By , March 1, 2011 10:53 pm

There are thousands of ways to make money on the Internet, but making money with Adsense seems to be one of the most popular and successful ones. This is an advertising program owned by Google called AdWords. This charges the advertiser each time someone clicks on their ad. These are the ads that get put on the websites of Adsense members to earn money. Essentially, you are helping Google with their advertising and you are paid from the AdWords money they earn.

Since your ads have been matched to your site’s content, they will be more interesting to your visitors. Google accesses your website to match the ads to your content made possible through specialized technology. This is one reason that people are making money with Adsense. It’s a situation that works out in everyone’s best interest. Traffic visiting your website is more likely to find the ads interesting and click on them.

Once you apply to the Adsense program your website content will be assessed for quantity and originality.  How often you add fresh content is also assessed. Google needs to see that you plan to have your website up for a while and that there is valuable information to offer visitors. For this all to work, your website must draw lots of traffic, and Google will also check for this. They want maximum traffic to see their ads. So making money with Adsense depends heavily on how busy your site is.

While there is no definitive information as to what the AdWords pay per click, you will probably see a wide range from .02 to $15.00. Again, how much money you can make through Adsense depends on your content and volume of traffic. But it has been shown to be a simple and effective way to make money on the Internet.

Building Intuition For Success

Building Intuition For Success

Our views of killer instinct are heavily affected by what we’ve seen in movies, books or TV. Many of us have come to trust that some have special wiring that gives them access to a magic way of seeing, hearing and sensing matters that the rest of us can’t. But what we don’t recognize is that we all have the power to tap into intuitive, killer instinct information. Simply because you’re not constantly having premonitions or precognitive flashes, doesn’t mean you’re not intuitive.

Some of us are by nature more intuitive than others, even as some of us are by nature more adept at running. Do you state to yourself, “I’m not born a long-distance runner, so I won’t bother building up my walking abilities?” Certainly not! That would be absurd. Very few of us are long-distance runners, but almost all of us have learned to functionally walk and run to the point that we need in our daily lives.

Among the best reasons to formulate your intuition is to tap into a source of info outside your conscious thinking brain. We’re all connected to, and a piece of, Universal awareness, which encompasses the creative thinking, intelligence, awareness, and power of each individual, creature or thing that ever has or ever will come into being.

Develop your intuition. It’s a facet of you that simply knows things without knowing how or why you know. Intuition is a feeling, a hunch, or a gut feeling.

Everybody has intuition, that unforeseen and unexplained knowing. Intuition utilizes all of your senses in a really holistic way. Intuition may frequently keep us safe, by presenting us a way to know faster. It may steer us towards or away from the correct people. Intuition may help us make choices in a myriad of situations.

FAQs about Franchises

By , February 24, 2011 11:47 pm

There are many questions that go along with getting yourself into a franchise operation. If you are the owner of the franchise then you particularly want to know all the specifics about owning a franchise, so here are some questions and answer that many people will typically ask the company directly in order to know where to begin first.

Franchise Question #1: How Much Capital Do You Need?
Answer: The most obvious concern that one should think about before approaching a company for one of their franchise businesses is how much startup capital they will need. Most of the time this answer will be laying right out in the open, but it’s okay too if one decides to approach the company directly and ask how much he or she will need. Many times the company will have a startup capital requirement, but then again some companies are only concerned about getting their fees that are associated with a franchise being able to use the company name, logo, and reputation. On the same note, it would be a good plan to pay the startup or initial fees of the company with cash instead of relying on a business loan for the money. Considering the fact that many franchises will need to get business loans anyway for all types of supplies and other necessary furnishings the best route to take would be to essentially pay for your franchise with cash!

Franchise Question #2: Where Will You Get Supplies?
Answer: Perhaps the next thing that a franchise owner will want to know before he or she actually starts opening the business is where the supplies will come from. When dealing with company headquarters there are many different rules and regulations that are associated with each type of franchise. Some companies will require the franchise owner to purchase the supplies, such as seating, chairs, and cash registers from a specific company that furnishes all of their company’s store branches, but there may be other companies that have real loose guidelines about the whole issue. One must make sure, though, that he or she knows all the ins and outs of furnishing the store with supplies before any agreement is ever made!

Franchise Question #3: Am I required to Advertise?
Answer: This is a very important issue in and of itself. Many would-be franchise owners don’t realize this, but the advertising that is done for the franchise is actually done by the company itself! Some of the fees that are required to be paid by the franchise include advertising fees, and these advertising costs and fees are supposed to be used by the company in order to generate advertising and marketing for the franchise itself. Such advertising methods may include special discounts that are given on a monthly basis, coupons that are placed in newspapers, and customer appreciation days. Of course, if the franchise is allowed to advertise in whatever way the owner sees fit then no advertising fees may have to be paid, but knowing what exactly is required is of utmost importance before advertising for the franchise itself!

The Secret Ingredient That Creates The Sales

By , February 10, 2011 10:24 am

The internet has become a huge mall with little ally ways and secret entrances all over the place. There are a huge amount of sales websites all vying for the same attention. Indeed a highly competitive market.

Marketing skills and writing have become more and more important to the marketing of your products and will become increasingly so as the internet increases in size.

Don’t be under the illusion that now is to late, there are millionaires made every day and there will still be made twenty years from now.

Advertising your site and product is the small part of marketing, the secret ingredient is in the pitch, whether a landing page, opt in or sales page.

Funny enough it has been the same for as long as you possibly can remember, from the first radio commercials, print commercials up to the latest in HDTV, it has not changed, what has changed is the jargon, the language and the way people perceive the world around them on a daily basis.

The way you write your sales pitch, where you place which word, how long must it be, what do you say, how do you say it, what guarantees do you give, how good do you make it sound, what is the perceived value, what does the buyer get, why or why not ad bonus products, what about the price.

The buzzword niche has now been around for a while, and in most places you will be taught that to get good business you must find your niche. For most this is easier said than done, think about it while you walk the dog, it  may help but it wont resolve the issue at hand.

Many new internet marketers make the same mistake, including me, when you start out, you want to sell everything to everyone, make millions of dollars and retire on the beach watching whatever you enjoy watching.

Many just throw in the towel after a while and that depends where they can push their patience to, others last a bit longer and as these leave new recruits eager to do the same join the party.

A vicious circle indeed and it seems that just a few at the top are making it. Many well known marketers are making it, but there are many more who remain quiet and anonymous that are raking in millions. It is up to you if you want to be well known or not, but use the right secret ingredient and you will be raking in the cash.

So for how long am I still going to be ranting on about the secret, or maybe it is my sales ploy, who knows?

Well lets let the cat out of the bag and not keep you in suspense any longer. You cant buy the secret ingredient. You are it. You just need to develop yourself using the right information.

What this means is that your product, book, sales letter or email needs to be unique to yourself. That is how your product will stand out from the rest. Just duplicating someone else’s work might bring you  some success but the real success lies in you. Like any game before you can get those tricky moves going you need to do the basics right. Learn the basics and the rest will follow.

Do not believe that you are not a writer. For some it is harder work than for others, but if you intend to be a successful internet marketer and have those vacations at the beach, every moment spent will be worth your while.

How to Price your Product with Competitive Pricing

By , February 3, 2011 6:43 am

Competitive Pricing

To figure out whether your items are priced too high or not, do what your customer does. Search the web. According to 2006 yahoo!/OMD, there are about 66% of family who use the Internet to research on a product and 64% use the search engine to buy a product.

Take any one of your product and look up the Internet. Compare the prices with others, this would help you if you want to sell more. It is simple, you just need to type the name and ask to compare prices. It may be a little time consuming depending on the item you sell and the saturation of the market. This would provide an important insight that would help your business and make you aware of what you are up against.
You may be able to differentiate your product and convince your customer so that they buy from you. Start this by lowering your cost. This always helps. If you see that there is a possibility of further lowering your prices then do so. You would find that your item will become “lowest price ever on the web!”. Low cost helps purchase and this would make up the difference of price cut.

Guarantee a price match. Let your customers know that you would match any price and u will not be under sold. Once the customer are there, make them follow through with the purchase. You could also offer them free shipment. In case your item costs more than the competitor, you could offer free shipping as this would give your item the lowest cost at check out.

Free shipping add as an bonus to any purchaser. This word makes a huge difference whether or not you finally make the sale. If by chance you loose a customer it would be because of the customer not convinced by the cost of the item. Therefore to convince your customer that your product is worth the cost and definitely worth purchasing it from you it is important that you make certain changes.

Cost is not the only factor but one of those most important factors that influence purchase. So if you have given your customer a best buy in case of the product worth it would help you to have an edge over the rest of the competitors.
